With the ULTRAPLEX 40max, users are guaranteed a minimum of seventeen speed performance and will experience up to forty speed performance. The ULTRAPLEX 40max provides real world performance of 27X throughput rates.*

The ULTRAPLEX 40max's burst transfer rate of 20Megabytes/second supports Ultra SCSI data transfer. That's the maximum burst speed for a standard 50-pin 8-bit bus - the maximum for standard CD-ROM. Other high speed devices, such as hard drives, will not be bogged down waiting for the CD-ROM. In addition, the ULTRAPLEX 40max boasts an industry leading average random access time of 85ms and supports flawless 24X max Digital Audio Extraction.

The ULTRAPLEX 40max also reads the latest in recordable CD media, CD-R/W (Re-Writable CD-ROM) at industry leading speeds. The ULTRAPLEX 40max positions users for worry-free use of the new generation of writable CD technology.

Or use Plextor's new AudioFS to view and browse CD-Audio discs as .WAV files automatically. You can drag and drop these .WAV files to other applications and the extraction occurs automatically. Even send digital audio directly to USB speakers. In addition, Plextor Manager offers DiscDupe^TM which gives you the power to use the UltraPleX as a source to duplicate CDs directly to a PlexWriter^TM CD-R with "bit-by-bit" accuracy using Disc-at-Once method - no expensive software add-ons needed. Other valuable utilities include CD/AV player and complete audio CD control; and DiscInfo^TM, which reports the disc format, file type, tracks and number of sessions.
